Flameworking Demonstration

Lubbers Center for the Visual Arts, Room 27

Kathleen Elliot, Allison B. Allen artist-in-residence, will demonstrate the flameworking technique she uses to create the pieces currently in Mills Gallery. The event is free and open to the public.

Jazz Band Concert

Cox-Snow Recital Hall

The Central Jazz Band performs with three guest artists: Jillian Jones ’05 (vocals), Rusty Johnson ’03 (saxophone) and Dave Kobberdahl (trumpet). Tickets are $5 or free with Central ID.

College-Community Chorus and Orchestra Concert

7 pm. Nov. 12

Douwstra Auditorium

Central students and community members perform Mozart’s Requiem, directed by Mark Babcock. Admission is free.

“The Book Club Play”

7:30 p.m. Nov. 16 – 19

Kruidenier Theatre

“The Book Club Play” is a hit comedy about books and people who love them. When the members of a devoted book club become the subjects of a documentary filmmaker and accept a provocative new member, their long-standing group dynamics take a hilarious turn. Tickets are $6 for adults, $3 for seniors and free with Central College ID.

Trúc Deegan, Watercolor artist

Mills Gallery

Trúc Deegan’s works are made using a Chinese brush-and-ink-and-watercolor technique. Deegan studied under Ang Swee Hin, master of Chinese art, in Penang, Malaysia.
