Pella, Iowa (January 2, 2018) – The Pella Community Foundation Board of Directors approved 28 grants to local non-profit organizations. This year’s total of $62,000 is a record and in its 26 year history the Foundation has now awarded almost $1,000,000 in board directed grants.
Jim Brandl president of the foundation said, “The grants this year will touch a broad cross-section of people within our community. They will help provide summer sack lunches to area children; provide playgound equipment in a location where none existed; allow middle-school students to help in the preparation of “Meals from the Heartland”; provide college scholarhips for two area high school students; support the Pella area common reading program; provide support for the Fairhaven memorial gardens, and much more.”
