Pella Kindergartener Creates Fundraiser for Many Hands for Haiti

Titus Hopkins, a kindergartener at Madison Elementary, has always had a big heart. After hearing at church that just one quarter could provide a meal for kids in Haiti, he started brainstorming ways to earn lots of quarters! With assistance from his mom, Titus brainstormed a fundraiser using one of his favorite toys, Legos. Lego-maniacs are invited to build creations out of legos and enter them in a contest for great prizes donated by local businesses. The entry fee per creation is $5 for kindergarten through 5th grade and $10 for 6th through 12th grade. All proceeds will go to Many Hands for Haiti.

Pick up a registration and rules form at Marion County Bank or Third Reformed Church. The public is invited to vote on the Lego creations the week of March 1-5 at Marion County Bank. Winners will be announced Wednesday, March 10.

Details are available at Marion County Bank’s website, www.marioncountybank.com.
