Pella Police Department Weekly Police Report 022810 to 030610

During the week of February 28, 2009 through March 6, 2010, the Pella Police Department received 106 calls for service, issued 42 citations and 46 warning citations, 34 parking tickets and arrested 8 people resulting in 9 charges.

COMMUNICATION CENTER WEEKLY STATS

During the week of February 28, 2009 through March 6, 2010, the communications center fielded 235 telephone calls, assisted 61 people at the window, and fielded 27 incoming calls on the 911 system.

ARRESTS

On 02/28/10 John S. Morris, 19, of Des Moines was charged with public intoxication. John was incarcerated for the night.
On 03/01/10 Jerome L. Watson, 25, of Pella was charged with possession of marijuana. Jerome was transported to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, where he was held.
On 03/02/10 Dung H Dang, 36, of MO was charged with driving while suspended. He was cited and released with a court date.
On 03/04/10 Todd A. Baker, 35, of Pella was charged with driving while suspended. He was cited and released with a court date.
On 03/04/10 Cody A. Sanders, 21, of Pella was charged with dog at large. Cody was cited and released with a court date.
On 03/05/10 Jeremy J. Lekos, 31, of Pella was charged domestic abuse assault with inury. Jeremy was incarcerated for the night.
On 03/05/10 Logan J. Daters, 19, of Melbourne was charged with possession of alcohol under legal age and harassment. Logan was incarcerated for the night.
On 03/06/10 Gerardo J. Salcido, 21, of Oklahoma City Salcido was charged with public intoxication, and criminal mischief. He was incarcerated for the night

TRAINING
Officer Justin Bailey attended the MCTC (Midwest Counterdrug Training Center) course on Roadside Interviews from March 2 – March 5, 2010.  The course covered the initial observation of the violator to the stop’s final assessment and was designed to enable police professionals to:
To gain an understanding in conducting non-intrusive road side interviews uncovering criminal activity.
Learn communication skills and awareness that are essential in detecting persons committing unlawful acts.
Learn how to verbally control others without instigating confrontations. 
The MCTC course is federally funded and offered free to any law enforcement agency. 

CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER WEEKLY REPORT

During the week of February 28, 2010 through March 7, 2010 the Code Enforcement Officer:
received no calls for service,
5 incoming calls,
detected 13 violations,
resolved 10, and
made contact with 17 people.
In addition four violations resolved from week of 02/22/10 and
issued twenty parking tickets.
