| Ain't Food Wonderful?
Recently, on the way back from Iowa City, my wife and I stopped for lunch in Sully, at the Coffee Cup Cafe. What a delight. Rural Iowa at its best!
The patrons were farmers, in bib overalls and seed corn caps, local servicemen, a table of older women, some older couples, two young men high school age or slightly older, and everyone knew everyone.
Not only was the ambiance unique, the food was great. Pork tenderloins, beef sandwiches, full dinners, etc. Just what you'd expect to find in a small town cafe, plus a great selection of soft and two-crust pies. We ordered two slices to go - no room after the cafe's generous servings! And the coffee is good, too.
Sully is a lot like Pella. The business district is neat, the park is attractive and the homes are well-kept. Sully people take pride in their home town - a great place to live - and eat.
