Pella Business Women’s Club
Who We Are
The club was started in 1981, and there are approximately 25 members from Pella and the surrounding areas. As business owners, employees or retired professional women, we want to promote community service and encourage each other in personal and professional growth.
Each member in this diverse group contributes from their own background and experiences in assessing and meeting the needs of the Pella community.
Dinner meetings are held on the third Monday of each month at 6 p.m. at the Scholte House, 728 Washington Street. Membership is open to all women, 18 years and up. Guests are always welcome. Dues are $10 per year. There is a minimal charge for dinner.
The Program committee arranges for a variety of speakers and presentations each month. Past programs have included Crisis Intervention Services, Nick’s Greenhouse, and Historic Pella Trust.
What We Do
The ever popular Dutch Market during Tulip Time at West Market Park is our primary fundraiser which in turn allows us to help the community as follows:
Awarding scholarships to high school girls attending College
Complete landscaping of city square information center.
Improvements to the shelter area of West Market Park
Donation of (AED) Automatic External Defibrillator to Lincoln School
Nu-step exercise equipment to Fair Haven West
Purchase of copy machine and other items for Pella Historical Society
Donation of tables, chairs and dishwasher to Scholte House
Smaller donations were given to several organizations in the Pella area.
