Crisis Intervention Services (CIS) is a non-profit organization with a mission to provide support, resources, and hope for a better future to persons affected by domestic abuse, sexual assault, and other crises. We serve victims of any violent crime, and anyone who is in crisis and needs support. We are familiar with community resources and able to provide referrals to ensure comprehensive family support. The service area for CIS includes Marion, Keokuk, Lucas, and Mahaska counties. All services provided by CIS are free and confidential.

These services include information and referrals, counseling and support groups, criminal/legal advocacy, economic advocacy, medical advocacy, emergency shelter, transitional housing, and community education and training. We also provide a crisis line that gives support, empowerment, and referral information from crisis counselors 24 hours a day – 641-673-5499 or 1-800-270-1620

Our outreach offices are located in Pella at 612 1/2 Franklin Street (above Franklin St. Clothing) and Oskaloosa at 500 High Ave West (across from Hy-Vee). Advocates are also available to meet in any safe and confidential locations within other communities as well. For assistance or more information, please call us at 1-800-270-1620.

Crisis Intervention Services is always in need of donations of household items, gift cards, food, diapers, and cleaning supplies. A complete wish list is available on our website at www.cismc.org.
