Friends of the Pella Public Library

The Friends of the Pella Public Library organization was established in 1977 and has had over 250 members.

Its mission is:

  1. To promote knowledge of the functions, resources, services, and needs of the library.
  2. To help generate financial support for the improvement of the library.

  3. To increase the interest in and use of the library and its services.

  4. To provide, when available, volunteers to assist with library projects.

The Friends of the Pella Public Library operate the Book Nook within the library, selling used books on an ongoing basis.  The Friends also hold larger book sales three or four times a year.  The Friends support the library in a number of ways, including buying books and equipment for the library, paying for speakers and programs, and providing volunteers.

Membership in the Friends of the Pella Public Library costs as little as $5 per year and is tax deductible.
