The purpose of the Pella Community Foundation is to preserve the heritage and enhance the quality of life for the people of Pella by facilitating the work of the non-profit tax-exempt organizations of the area.
The Pella Community Foundation awarded its first series of competitive grants to local non-profit organizations in 1993 and has continued over the years to make 202 grants to 51 different organizations totaling $382,000.
Its goal is to facilitate the transfer of funds from the hands of people who wish to help others into the hands of the organizations which can do it most effectively! People do not give to the Foundation, but through it.
A host of people, both givers and receivers, can testify to its success in doing just that and thereby enhancing the quality of life for everyone in Pella.
