Prevention Concepts, Inc. is a comprehensive prevention agency. Our mission is to be proactive in the promation of healthy choices while strengthening Central Iowa communities through collaboration. Prevention Concept's team members provide the following programs in Marion County: Al's Pals: Kids Making Healthy, Choices, Hawkeye Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention and Teen Parent Program, Girls Circle, Prenatal Chemical Exposure to Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs, Parents as Teachers and other programs addressing alcohol, tabacco and drug prevention. Parents as Teachers for Madison, Marion and Warren Counties is an early learning program for parents with children birth to kindergarten entry. Parents as Teachers believes that parents are their child's first and most important teacher. PAT provides personal visits, group meetings, screening and resource and referral information to any parent residing in Marion County. Please note: The office at the Pella Community Center is not staffed on a regular basis. It is a work place for Parent Educators and Prevention Concepts staff and does not operate as a traditional office.
