Pella's Yard Waste Program

YARD WASTE: Only city-authorized yard waste bags will be picked up. City-authorized bags are identified by the words "Metro Waste Authority". These can be purchased at the following locations:

• City Hall - 825 Broadway
• Public Works - 100 Truman Rd
• Casey's - 414 S. Clark, 414 Oskaloosa & 900 Main St.
• Kum & go - 744 Washington
• Westpoort Convenience Center – 2421 Washington St.

Yard waste bags will be collected every Wednesday, March - November. During the winter months of December, January and February, yard waste bags will be collected the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month only.

BRUSH BUNDLES: Brush that will not fit in yard waste bags must be bundled using string, rope or other biodegradable material (no wire or plastic). Brush bundles must measure less than 48" long, 30" in diameter, weigh less than 40 pounds, and must not contain branches greater than 3 inches in diameter.

Brush bundles meeting the above requirements will be picked up on Wednesdays if a City-authorized sticker is attached. City authorized stickers are identified by the words "Metro Waste Authority." Stickers will only be good for bundled brush meeting the requirements. Stickers placed on any other type of waste will not be picked up. Stickers are sold at City Hall and Public Works only.

The city will collect the brush bundles, meeting the above requirements, at no charge, on the 3rd Wednesday of every month (no sticker required).
